Nirmal Kutiya Johalan

THE SERMON OF THE INDESCRIBABLE GURU

Many people might have seen the dazzling pearls and diamonds but rare persons know the actual worth of these precious stones. All those visiting Nirmal Kutiya Johalan were ordinary citizens and everyone was just a devotee for the other. It was Sant Baba Basant Singh ji Maharaj alone who knew how much faith and love each one had in his heart for him. Sant Baba ji could easily recognize those who thought highly of him. Blessings and happiness was showered on these individuals and in time of need Sant Baba ji stood by them to look after their welfare.

Sardar Kirpal Singh lived in Nawan Shahar and worked in a factory at Ludhiana. He belonged to village Hansron and was the brother of Babu Nirmal Singh, Head Granthi.

Visiting Nirmal Kutiya Johalan on the first day of every Samvat month had become a ritual for him. He was a baptized Sikh and there had been no occasion when he missed this selfdiscipline.

Once one day before the Sangrand, he went to the owner with his leave application. The owner refused to grant him leave for a day.

Kirpal Singh requested him, “I have been taking leave every month on every Sangrand. Please do grant one day leave to me.”

The factory owner replied, “That does not mean every month you will miss work for a day. The work of the factory gets affected. You should be aware of your responsibilities.”

Kirpal Singh explained, “I have never shirked work. It is only on Sangrand that I have to go for DARSHAN of my Holy saint. I have never missed listening to the Holy verses of the new month. Kirtan of the Holy Hymns and the discourses about the Gurus are solace to the heart and my whole month passes in happiness. I wait for this day to come so that I can go and enjoy this peace. I therefore request you to grant me leave for just one day. I assure you that I do not have any household work and I have to go for DARSHAN of my Holy saint only.”

The factory owner responded, “Whatever the reason, you are not granted leave. Come to the factory tomorrow as usual.”

Kirpal Singh became sad on being refused leave. After finishing his work, he came home but was quite restless. He could not think of any manner in which he could go to Nirmal Kutiya Johalan, now. He thought he might lose his job if he left for the Kutiya without informing his seniors and without sanction of a leave. He was very upset and stretched on his bed after finishing his super. He was unable to sleep. He prayed, “Maharaj ji! It is in your hands now. Please ensure that my routine of having your DARSHAN does not get disturbed.”

Sant ji Maharaj came in the dream of the owner of the factory that night. The owner observed that he was having the DARSHAN of his Lord, whom he worshipped. He felt happy to see his Lord. Sant Baba ji asked him to grant leave to Kirpal Singh. The owner believed that these were divine orders.

When he got up in the morning, he thought about the marvel that had happened in his dream.

He reached the factory before the time of opening of the gate of the factory to let the workers in. He waited for Kirpal Singh to turn up.

When Kirpal Singh reached the gate, he was immediately taken aside and the factory owner said to him, “Kirpal Singh! You will not be working today. Your leave has been sanctioned. You will be granted one day leave on every Sangrand.”

The owner narrated his dream to Kirpal Singh and then said to him, “Your Holy saint is really someone great. I cannot refuse you leave for his DARSHAN.”Kirpal Singh was ecstatic and tears flowed freely from his eyes. His head bowed naturally at the feet of Sant Baba Basant Singh ji Maharaj. The great saint had reciprocated his love many more times. He thanked Sant Baba ji again and again.
