THE ELYSIAN TREE OF MIRACULOUS POWERS
IS UNDER THE CONTROL OF HOLY MEN

Fourteen jewels were found when the deities and the demons churned the primal ocean. Paarjaat (The Elysian tree), a heavenly tree was one of them. It is said that God Indra has five heavenly trees in his garden, viz. 1) MANDAAR, 2) PAARJAAT, 3) SANTAAN, 4) KALP TREE and 5) HARI CHANDAN.

According to ancient Holy books, these trees cannot be brought to earth. However, the Holy men, in tune with the Almighty have the power to plant them anywhere. Lord Krishna snatched the Elysian tree from Indra and brought the same to earth to please the Gopis(milk maids). This is referred to in Gurbani as follows:

ਪਾਰਜਾਤੁ ਗੋਪੀ ਲੈ ਆਇਆ ਬ੍ਰਿੰਦਾਬਨ ਮਹਿ ਰੰਗੁ ਕੀਆ || (ਪੰਨਾ ੪੭੦)

He (Lord Krishna) brought the Elysian Tree for his milkmaids, and revelled in Brindaaban. (Page 470)

The Elysian tree has miraculous powers and has the ability to provide different kinds of fruits. Similarly, a cow named ‘KAAMDHENU’ is a heavenly cow with miraculous powers, and has the ability to fulfill the wishes of human beings. The fifth Master of the Sikhs has mentioned about the Elysian tree and the ‘KAAMDHENU’ cow in the second octate of ‘SUKHMANI SAHIB’ as follows:

ਪਾਰਜਾਤੁ ਇਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਕੋ ਨਾਮ ||
ਕਾਮਧੇਨ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਮ || (ਪੰਨਾ ੨੬੫)

This Elysian Tree of miraculous powers is the Name of the Lord.
The Kaamadhenu, the cow of miraculous powers, is the singing of the Glory of the Lord’s Name, Har, Har.(Page 265)

The Master teaches us that the recitation of the Name of the Lord is the Elysian tree and singing praises of the Name of the Lord is the ‘KAAMDHENU’ cow. These heavenly things are under the direct control of Holy men, who have the ability to take any type of service from them. Apart from the worldly things, the Holy saints have the power to take out any type of work from the Almighty. Gurbani says:

Everyone is under Your power, O inaccessible, unfathomable Lord.
You are under the control of Your devotees; You are the strength of Your devotees. ||10|| (Page 962)

At the abode of Sant Baba Basant Singh ji Maharaj, there used to be a bin made of mud kept near the thatched hut. A big iron plate covered the mouth of the bin. The bin and the plate were tied with a rope and the mouth never was kept open.

One of the sadhus of Nirmal Kutiya Johalan describes the miraculous powers of this bin, “The bin was full of flour. We regularly took out flour from inside the bin for preparing langar. The flour was taken out with our hands, but we never looked inside the bin. The taking out of flour was a regular feature, but we had never seen anyone pouring flour into the bin. This miracle of filling the bin with flour was only known to Sant ji Maharaj.”

The earthen pot (Bin) was a ‘KAAMDHENU’ cow or a heavenly Elysian Tree. The flour never finished in the bin. It never became empty even when large amounts of flour had been taken out.
