SETH KARTAR SINGH IS BLESSED

Whenever a Gursikh has full faith in a saint or a sadhu and follows the path as per the guidance of the saint then the saint takes the Gursikh out of all kinds of miseries that befall on him. Sant Baba Basant Singh ji Maharaj also looked after his devotees in a similar manner. Those who went astray were shaken and brought back to the right path.

Seth Kartar Singh was a resident of village Barian. He became a devotee of Sant Baba Basant Singh ji Maharaj when Sant Baba ji was in his youth. He was a regular visitor to Nirmal Kutiya Johalan.

He got married with the blessings of Sant Baba ji. He was sent to Uttar Pradesh by Sant Baba ji to look after the agricultural fields there. Services of a priest were also taken from him.

A son was born to his wife with the passage of time. He named him Swaran Singh.

Swaran Singh was still a child when he fell seriously ill. Even after best of treatment his illness continued. One day he came to Nirmal Kutiya Johalan with the thought that he would pray for good health for his son. He brought sugar cubes as Parshad.

After paying his homage to Sant Baba ji by touching his forehead on the ground, he sat close to the Holy saint. Sant Baba ji did not utter a word. Seth ji could not gather the strength to make his request before Sant Baba ji. He was unable to say anything about his son.

After some time Sant Baba ji asked him to go and perform SEWA. While serving he filled a glass bottle with the Holy water from the Holy well. He closed the bottle and kept it on the ground. The moment he kept the bottle it tumbled and broke. The whole water in the bottle flowed away.

Seth ji became emotional and compared the event of the bottle breaking as a signal that his son was no more. With this thought in his mind he could not control himself and started crying.

Sant Baba ji came to know about him and said in a matter of fact way, “Seth! It is not your child but it is his illness that has gone.”

On hearing this Seth ji gained some confidence. He fell on the feet of Sant Baba ji and thanked him profusely.

Swaran Singh grew and worked as a TTE (Travelling Ticket Examiner) in the Indian Railways. He now lives with his family in Kaki Pind. He regularly visits the Kutiya and remains immersed in SEWA.
