Nirmal Kutiya Johalan

RECOGNISING THE RESPECT OF AKHAND PATH AND THE PRIESTS

This event happened before the partition of the country in 1947. Sardar Lahora Singh of village Bhattolian fractured his leg in an accident. He was a devotee of Sant Baba Basant Singh ji Maharaj. Sitting at home he prayed to Sant Baba ji, “Maharaj ji! I cannot come to Nirmal Kutiya Johalan for your DARSHAN. I am in acute pain. Please bless me and assuage my pain. Grant me good health so that I can come for your DARSHAN.”During his prayer he thought that once he regained his health he would celebrate by arranging an AKHAND PATH.

He had immense love and full faith in Sant Baba ji. He was therefore ready to follow the path explained by Sant Baba ji that an AKHAND PATH should be arranged to thank the 302 Lord for His kindness.

‘A Gursikh in Pain .................. Thanks the Lord!’

'A Gursikh in Happiness ......... Thanks the Lord!’

There was an immediate affect on account of the prayer undertaken with deep love. His fractured leg became all right.

Sardar Lahora Singh shared this blessing with his friends and relatives. He came to Nirmal Kutiya Johalan for DARSHAN of Sant Baba ji. He thanked Sant Baba ji for his kindness and said, “Maharaj ji! Please give me time for arranging an AKHAND PATH at my residence. Please bless me with the presence of the sangat and your Holy DARSHAN.”

Sant Baba ji explained to him, “You should only thank the Lord for His graciousness. The recitation of AKHAND PATH and listening to Gurbani is indeed a blessing. The priests’ read out the Holy Hymns and the sangat listens and tries to understand the meaning. It is really wonderful when one serves the priests and the sangat with respect and love. Go and make arrangements for the AKHAND PATH. The AKHAND PATH should be arranged in a tent under the CHHALLI MANGO TREE. (This was the same tree under which Sant Baba ji had spend many years in worship after he returned from the Shivalik mountains.) We will also attend the AKHAND PATH.”

As instructed, Sardar ji arranged the AKHAND PATH in a tent under the mango tree and the continuous recitation of Sri Guru Granth Sahib was started. Sant Baba ji reached there riding his horse. The sangat also joined him. The devotees of Sant Baba ji on coming to know about his presence started collecting there. Congregations were held in the morning and also in the evening.

Sant Baba ji stayed there for six days. Bhog of Sri AKHAND PATH was undertaken. The groups of musicians sang the Holy Hymns. Happiness could be observed all around. The efforts of Sardar Lahora Singh were instrumental in collecting villagers from nearby villages to share the blessings of the Holy saint. Under the instructions of Sant Baba ji, on the day of the BHOG, the ambrosial nectar of the two edged sword was prepared and the seekers were initiated.

Sant Baba ji blessed the mango tree and this tree is still considered Holy by the residents of the village and nearby towns.
