Nirmal Kutiya Johalan

PRAYING IN THE MIND ALSO GETS REWARDED

There was simplicity in the spoken words of Sant Baba Basant Singh ji Maharaj. Those individuals who could dare to speak to him directly were full of humility and love for him. Sant Baba ji understood these individuals very well. Many individuals might have visited the Kutiya many a times and there might be occasions when they did not hear a word from Sant Baba ji. It was enough for them to have paid their homage to Sant Baba ji.

It was thus a fact that most of the individuals prayed for the fulfillment of their wishes in their minds. Sant Baba ji with his divine powers could reveal what was in their mind, though he never demonstrated his miraculous powers.

Bhai Munsha Singh, a MISTRI (A mechanic/Mason), belonged to village Marula. He had immense love for Sant Baba Basant Singh ji Maharaj. He came to Nirmal Kutiya Johalan often to pay his homage.

Once when he was in the Kutiya, Sant Baba ji shared his view with him, “A person has to be very lucky to be able to be of some kind of service to the Gursikhs.”

Bhai ji was intelligent and understood the point. He had been thinking about the same thing since he left his house. He wanted to serve five Gursikhs with langar prepared at his home. Sant Baba ji had read his mind and presented it through his point of view.

He said to Sant Baba ji, “Maharaj ji! Please do grace me with your Holiness so that I may be able to serve the Gursikhs.”

Sant Baba ji said, “This is real good.”

After some time Sant Baba ji asked him, “Do you have a milch cattle at home?”

Bhai ji replied, “I have one, but the milk is only sufficient for the family. I have been thinking if I have to serve the Gursikhs then I would require sufficient milk, butter and ghee.”

Sant Baba ji advised him, “There is a seasonal rivulet TOHLIAN da CHOU, flowing near your village. There is syrup that flows in the rivulet. This syrup has all the ingredients of good fortune. Take your bath in the morning. Complete your NITNEM. Collect a pitcher from the rivulet water and pour it in the earthen pot meant for churning the cream. The Almighty will bless you and your wish will be fulfilled.”

Bhai ji followed the instructions of Sant Baba ji. His wife did not raise any questions and had full faith in what her husband was doing. The daily prayers were offered after taking the bath in the morning. The syrup was collected and poured into the cream in the earthen pot. The mixture was churned and the butter flowed out. Both husband and wife were astonished to see the amount of butter that was obtained.

There was no shortage of milk products when Bhai ji served langar to the Gursikhs with his own hands. The Gursikhs ate to their fill and happily thanked Bhai ji for the courtesy.

The question was that of faith in the words of the preceptor. The instructions of Sant Baba ji were to be followed with just love, faith and humility without raising any doubts or questions in the mind.

Bhai ji is blessed and he with his family is completely in the fold of Nirmal Kutiya Johalan.
