SANT BABA GIAN SINGH JI - ONE WITH THE ETERNAL

Braham Giani Sriman 108 Sant Baba Gian Singh ji Maharaj’s soul left his human body to remain forever at the feet of the Almighty on 6th November 2001 (21 Katak Samvat 2058). The soul in fact merged with the Lord (Jyoti Jyot Samana). A spiritual power vanished from this world. Anyone who heard the sad news lost his balance. Mourning was writ large on faces.

The news traveled fast and many devotees from far and near and even from foreign countries started reaching Nirmal Kutiya Johalan.

Sant Maharaj ji had wished that his body be immersed in the waters of river Sutlej at Gurdwara Babhor Sahib, in District Ropar.

On 7th November 2001, the body of Sant Maharaj ji was placed in a palanquin. Many devotees paid their respects. At around 11’o clock, the last journey started under the instructions and aegis of Sriman 108 Sant Baba Harbhajan Singh ji Virakat. A procession started. There were many people walking on foot, many were in cars, jeeps, buses etc and the procession left Nirmal Kutiya Johalan and passed through Phagwara, Banga, Garhshankar. It ultimately reached Gurdwara Babhor Sahib.

Babhor Sahib is the place where Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib had recited CHOUPAI Sahib. It was near the Gurdwara Sahib, in the river Sutlej that the body of Sant Maharaj ji kept in a wooden box was immersed in waters of river Sutlej, in presence of thousands of devotees whose eyes were full of tears.
