The child ego state of devotees is always to the fore when he comes to visit a Holy saint. The child in the devotee might seek complete blessings from Sant Baba Basant Singh ji Maharaj or might limit himself or herself to worldly benefits or even seek alleviation of his troubles. There was no end to the demand of the devotees coming to pay homage to Sant Baba ji. Sant Baba ji was kind and humble from his constant meditation of the Supreme Lord and continuously blessed his devotees.
A Kirtani Jatha of Jandu Singha was regularly visiting Nirmal Kutiya Johalan to perform Kirtan in presence of Sri Guru Granth Sahib on the orders of Sant Baba ji. Bhai Jagga Singh was a member of this group of musicians.
One day after performing the Kirtan, Bhai Jagga Singh came to Sant Baba ji and requested him, “I do not have a child. Please bless me so that my family identification continues in this world.”
Sant Baba ji kept quiet and did not reply.
Bhai Jagga Singh became annoyed and stopped coming to Nirmal Kutiya Johalan. He felt that the least he deserved was a reply from Sant Baba ji.
Bhai Karam Singh, another member of the group continued to visit Nirmal Kutiya Johalan. Whenever Bhai Karam Singh came, Sant Baba ji asked him, “Why has Bhai Jagga Singh stopped coming to the Kutiya?”
Bhai Karam Singh did not have any reply to this question. Once when Bhai Karam Singh came, Sant Baba ji raised the same question but on not getting any reply said, “I know why he does not come to the Kutiya. I know why he is annoyed. Tell him that the house of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji is full of blessings. The wish of Bhai Jagga Singh will also be fulfilled by Satguru Maharaj ji.”
Go, O my very fortunate companion: dwell in the Company of the Saints, and merge with the Lord. There, neither pain nor hunger nor disease will afflict you; enshrine love for the Lord’s Lotus Feet. There is no birth or death there, no coming or going in reincarnation, when you enter the Sanctuary of the Eternal Lord. Love does not end, and attachment does not grip you, O Nanak, when you meditate on the One Lord. ||3|| (Page 803)
Bhai Karam Singh went back to the village and met his fellow musician Bhai Jagga Singh and narrated the blessing of Sant Baba ji.
Bhai Jagga Singh was blessed with eight sons and two daughters.
Whosoever has full faith in a Holy saint, the Holy saint blesses him with complete happiness. He is not only blessed in this world but his life gets perked up in the next world also. The entire family of Bhai Jagga Singh comes to the Kutiya and continues to enjoy the fragrance of the garden of Sant Baba Basant Singh ji Maharaj.
