The devotees of Sant Baba Gian Singh ji Maharaj observed the spiritual light of Sant Baba Basant Singh ji Maharaj ignited in him. Sant Baba Gian Singh ji Maharaj decided to improve the look of the ascetic place of his beloved Gurudev. For this purpose, he went to Rajasthan with a few followers to purchase marble for the buildings, in the Kutiya, in the year 1978.
There are many interesting incidents narrated by those who accompanied Sant Maharaj ji on this visit. Only one incident is mentioned in this book.
The marble of Makrana is considered to be the best in Rajasthan. The dealers of marble are mostly Muslims. While the selection of the marble was going on the dealers were impressed with the personality of Sant Maharaj ji. Sant Maharaj ji was considered a preceptor of the Sikhs and a ‘PIR’ for the Muslims. The Muslims wanted to get the blessings of their ‘PIR’ and came to request Sant Maharaj ji, “Please visit our house and bless us.”
Sant Maharaj ji made them sit close to him and started talking to them. He discussed about their families and other whereabouts. Then he asked them, “Do you know the qualities that a Muslim should have in him?”
They said that Sant Maharaj ji should explain the qualities to them. Sant Maharaj ji recited the following verse from Sri Guru Granth Sahib:
On hearing the explanation of the verse, the Muslims were really astonished. They asked Sant Maharaj ji, “How do you know about these qualities required in Muslims?”
Sant Maharaj ji replied, “All this is mentioned in our Holy Book Sri Guru Granth Sahib.”
There are five prayers and five times of day for prayer; the five have five names. Let the first be truthfulness, the second honest living, and the third charity in the Name of God. Let the fourth be good will to all, and the fifth the praise of the Lord. Repeat the prayer of good deeds, and then, you may call yourself a Muslim.

One of them was curious and asked, “Does your Holy Book mention the qualities desired in a person belonging to Muslim faith?”
Sant Maharaj ji said, “Let us not get into this discussion. Let me know if you have these qualities?”
One of them replied, “No one has ever explained to us the traits we should have in us. We have today come to know from you what we should imbibe.”
All of them requested Sant Maharaj ji, “Pir ji! Please be kind to us and give us the strength to adopt these principles in our daily life.”
Sant Maharaj ji said to them, “You should be regular in reciting your NAMAZ five times in a day. You should not drink alcohol, as this is not permitted in your religion. Pray to Allah and remain resolute towards your religion.”
The Muslims were really thankful to Sant Maharaj ji for showing them the right path of living. Sant Maharaj ji came back to Nirmal Kutiya Johalan, with the sangat after making the necessary purchases of the marble.
